Jean has been involved in church music since she was a child.  Brookland United Methodist Church, now located on Staples Mill Road, had its beginnings by meeting in her living room.  They had a baby grand piano, and she could play a few hymns for people to sing and they had enough room for the faithful few who gathered to start that wonderful church.  When the church was built, She continued playing the piano and organ until entering Mary Washington College to study music.

She was Music Director at Providence United Methodist Church for 11 years before joining the staff of Saint Andrew's, where she has served for 38 years.

Along the way she married her high school sweetheart, W. J., and they have two wonderful daughters, Debbie and Sherry, and four fantastic grandchildren.

She has many hobbies and interests.  She has taught and continues to teach literally hundreds of children and adults to play the piano.  She loves to quilt and spends many hours working on crafts for the church bazaar.

She loves her God, people, her family, and her church and church family, and music.  She continues to be thankful that she has been blessed to serve here at Saint Andrew's.
