Serving Opportunities

We believe in the importance of showing Christ’s love through service in our community, partnering with programs like Kidz Kupboard, Shalom Farms, Welborne Food Pantry, Heart Havens, Angel Tree Ministry, Shoes and Coats for Kids, and other outreach programs that help individuals and families in need both locally and globally.

Welborne Food Pantry

Welborne Food Pantry, a ministry of Welborne United Methodist Church in Henrico, serves local residents in need by providing food to families at risk. In 2016, Welborne provided food to 6,316 people in 2,064 local families. In addition to our weekly collection and delivery of food and other items, we designate one month each year to collect donations for Welborne Food Pantry through our Cup of Cold Water ministry. Congregational and Community Assistance (CCA)

The CCA ministry was developed by members of Saint Andrew’s who had a desire to share the love of Christ by using their time and skills to provide practical assistance to members of the congregation and surrounding community residents. Services provided include transportation to church, medical and other appointments; providing caregiver breaks by sitting with loved ones; and performing light handy-person duties in order to keep homes safe and comfortable. Services are limited by location and the availability and ability of volunteer(s) to fulfill the request. If you need assistance, please call us at (804) 270-2869 ext. 6.

Kidz Kupboard

Our Kidz Kupboard ministry provides healthy weekend meals to local students who would otherwise go without. In addition to fundraising events like Breakfast with Santa and our fall and spring Consignment Sales, we facilitate weekly collection and delivery of meals to these children in need throughout the school year.

Congregations Around Richmond Involved to Assure Shelter (CARITAS)

CARITAS helps our most vulnerable neighbors break the cycles of homelessness and addiction to reclaim their dignity and to provide effective, permanent solutions to individuals and families dealing with the crisis of homelessness and/or addiction in the Metro Richmond area. One week each year, volunteers at Saint Andrew’s provide lunches, clothing, and personal care items to CARITAS clients.

Cup of Cold Water

At every worship service, our children collect change for the Cup of Cold Water offering. All proceeds are donated to the Ministry of the Month, which includes many of our ministry partners, as well as other Christian outreach organizations like Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, and Rise Against Hunger. This is a great way for kids and adults alike to get involved!
